The ATCMW will have our Specialty in April as part of the of the Columbia Terrier Association All Terrier Dog Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds

Due to some Covid restrictions still in place, we won't be able to provide the wonderful hospitality food table we've had in previous years. But our commitment to using breeder judges exclusively is still in place! This year we welcome Jean Surfus for our regular classes and Pat Reed for our Sweeps. And a special commemorative mug for each person who has an entry this year! Looking forward to seeing all of you.”

The 50th Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade is at hand! As a member of the Airedale Terrier Club of Metropolitan Washington, DC (“ATCMW”), Airedale Terrier Rescue of the Virginias (“ATRVA”), or just an Airedale lover, we want to extend a warm welcome to you and hope you will join us for the parade.

April 23, 2021 ATCMW Specialty
The ATCMW will have our Specialty on April 23 as part of the of the Columbia Terrier Association All Terrier Dog Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. To maximize safety from the coronavirus pandemic, all judging will be outdoors.
Todd Clyde, a breeder-judge will be judging our regular classes along with a couple of other breeds at the same show. Nancy Nykamp, who breeds and shows her own Airedales, is judging Sweeps. She is the daughter of Dr. Hugo Nykamp, who showed his Airedales under the kennel name Meadowaire in the 1970's and 80's.

WALK PARADE
December 2, 2017 Old Town Alexandria
For the 47th consecutive year, The Campagna Center is presenting its annual
Scottish Christmas Walk Parade in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia on Saturday,
December 2, 2017 starting at 11:00 AM. All members and their Airedales are
invited to come march with the Airedale Terrier Club of Metropolitan Washington,
DC. Even if you are just an Airedale supporter and fan, please come and support
our beloved dogs. Enjoy marching units filled with the magnificent tartans of
Scottish Clans, the stirring sound of Scottish bagpipes and drums, Scottish dancers,
reenactment groups, Scottie dogs, dignitaries, classic cars, Santa Claus, and much
more. The parade begins at St. Asaph and Wolfe Streets and concludes at Market
Square with a massed band concert. The parade will take place rain or shine. We
will provide more details on specifically where and when we will assemble when we
get closer to the event. Please direct any questions to club member Wilder Leavitt

Airedales and the handlers will assemble in the 400 block of South Pitt Street between Wolfe Street and Wilkes Street. The parade steps off at 11:00, but we encourage early, perhaps by 10:00, because parking tends to fill up early. The parade route map that also includes the location parking lots.

April 22, 2016 Specialty Show The Airedale Terrier Club of Metropolitan Washington is holding its Specialty show in conjunction with the Columbia Terrier Association of Maryland on Friday, April 22, 2016. The show is held at the Maryland Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD.
There are two puppies in Sweeps and 20 Airedales in the regular classes. Judging for Sweeps begins at 10:45 in Ring 12, with regular judging to follow immediately in the same ring.
This is an outdoor venue under tents, so dress accordingly. more....

The ATCMW will be holding an “Airedale Fair” on September 5, 2015 at the Picnic Pavilion at Frying Pan Park. This is our annual meeting and election of officers. There will be a continental breakfast and a picnic lunch as well as activities and games to do with your dog, demonstrations on grooming and nail care and lots of helpful information on feeding, vaccinations and general health. 6 pm - 9 pm at The Wine Bin 8390 Main St., Ellicott City, MD
Join the fun as the Wine Bin in Ellicott City hosts a Yappy Hour fundraiser to support Airedale Rescue on Friday August 2nd. The festivities begin at 6 PM. A portion of sale from wine and beer sales and the all proceeds from the raffle will support Airedale Rescue. Bring your friends, family, and well-behaved dogs on-leash. If you'd like to help staff the table, let Jim Hession know via Contact Us . The more the merrier. Live music and local vendors will also be on hand.
